Do you absolutely HAVE to lose your mucus plug before labor?

no my last pregnancy water broke first

@number321, sorry to get personal but did yours ever come out after your water broke or during pushing?

I was in full blow labor, lost my plug once I hit 4cms.

honestly I don't remember. labor was too fast. water broke at 11am, got to the hospital by 12 pm baby was born by 3:30 pm I was already 4 cm once I got upstairs to the room

I lost mine after they broke my water, they broke it about 10 minutes after they gave me the walking epidural. I was on my hands and knees rocking back and forth, and I felt it come out, and when I looked down I almost puked because it was so gross! lmao

no, I didn't lose mine with my last 2 kids and I don't remember with my first

Unless I did but it was in little amounts and I didn't notice??

I was wondering this same thing cause still no sign of my plug at all and I'm due Saturday

I made the mistake of googling what a mucus plug can look like because (TMI) my whole pregnancy I've had a lot of regular discharge but even more so lately so I was wondering if it could look like regular discharge and OMG the pictures online 😂😂. But I'm glad I'm not the only one that is having no signs! @daij
