just because you're dilating and thinning doesn't mean your baby is coming right away. some women dilate to a 2 and are stuck there for weeks, others dilate rather quickly. just depends on your own body

You can stay where you are for weeks or you could go into labor any minute... Being dilated doesn't give you a time line. I wish I could give you better news. Sorry
