it took about 3 or 4 for me i think and i dont nurse every 3 hrs every time either cause i have a lazy girl lol

How much you pump isn't an accurate representation of how much you're producing! Is your baby having adequate wet diapers? And poop? That's how you can tell!

If you're pumping that is not an accurate depiction of your milk supply. Baby gets up to 1-3 more ounces than your pump will get. Especially if you feed on both sides. Mine took 2-3 days to come in with my first. If your baby seems satisfied after feedings i.e. Not crying, squirming, or has that "drunken sailor" look. And is having adequate wet and dirty diapers then your supply is perfect for baby. If your concerned still you could pump after ever feeding just to up your supply.

Try lactation cookies and there's even a tea that they sell at babies r us. I used to drink it with my daughter and I ended up breastfeeding for over 6 months. I'll figure out what it's called and let you know. It's like mothers milk tea or something like that lol

@carterclaytonb, it varies actually sometimes he's satirized and other times he's still fussy after being breastfed. so I know he's not getting an adequate amount sometimes.

Mine took about 3 days I think, hard to remember now 8 months later lol...but the important thing at this age is that you latch the baby to the breast instead of pumping, your pump could get only 2oz or less but the baby could get 5oz! Babies are always more efficient at getting milk!!! So latch that baby on, at 10 days she should be peeing about 5 to 6 times a day or more, if you're getting that many wet diapers then you know you're doing fine 😊 don't sweat the ounces with pumping, it can be very discouraging and can lead to supplementation and eventually failure (sorry, harsh word I know but just using it to describe correctly)...so I would definitely feed at the breast only until your milk supply is well established, usually around the 6 week mark...then you can start slowly reintroducing bottles if you need to go back to work or for whatever reason....even waiting 4 weeks would be super helpful for your supply, it is very important to feed on demand, whenever your baby seems fussy and hungry, latch the baby on and DO NOT watch the clock, let her nurse as long as she wants, then when she unlatches offer the other side. Usually babies nurse every 1 to 3 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less often just make sure you don't let your breasts feel engorged (hard, full or heavy)....if you have any more questions let me know, I am always here to help!

I know what you mean. After looking into it more I'm learning that pumping is hard work! It's a learning process. I found out I've been using the wrong size breast shields so it wasn't flowing. I switched to a smaller size and got more milk out! Keep at it and do some research on pumping. It's not easy! I'm sure you're doing great.

@hellosweetie, I have a boy. so he 😘 but thank you so much I'm trying to do exactly what you said. he just gets fussy at times and it's weird but I feel like I pump more than when he latches on. bc at times he doesn't seem satisfied. hopefully everything works out for me with breastfeeding.

I didn't look at your profile so didn't know, I generally say "she" cuz I have a girl lol also fussiness doesn't have anything to do with supply, so rsst assured if he is peeing enough and gaining weight at appointments, it's not a supply issue! It could be a million other things, including just him wanting the comfort of nursing or him being frustrated that the milk doesn't flow as fast as the bottle...with patience and persistence he will gladly take a boob over a bottle lol and your supply will match his needs better that way because they will get the signal from how much he takes to determine how much they should make!
