lmao @ginnalynn Im not a know it all but I've been studying pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding etc for years and I'm a certified professional in a few areas. Also on my 4th pregnancy. I can be found commenting on lots of posts because I actually DO know what I'm talking about when i comment. People kill me.

@twinmama_navywife, thank you ive had 3 kids they do swab your vagina and your butt! The infection can be found in the vagina and rectum. Im a labor professional i think i know this.
strep B can normally be found in the female vagina, so you're tested for it during pregnancy. if positive for strep B you'll be placed on antibiotics during labor. if the strep B isn't taken care of, it could cause neonatal meningitis or blindness of the newborn since if can be transmitted to the baby during labor. I'm a lab tech btw and have worked with strep B in the lab for a long time. hope that helps
@arivera64, they don't swab your butthole... They swab your vaginal area..
They will give you antibiotics during labor. Its very rare to be harmful to the baby.
