@maybaby2016 girl your fine:) you know good ole TX does their own thing😅 it really depends on your judge and the situation.. my dad was trying to get out of helping my mom and he never saw me so naturally my mom wanted him to sign his rights over, he agreed so easily MAINLY because he would no longer have to pay for me.... only reason so the judge told his dumb ass, okay go ahead and do that but you'll still pay child support AND I'll raise the amount he said yah never mind.... But the judge also told my mom if she had anymore problems with him lying to me and not coming to bring him back and he would terminate his rights himself.

@lilfree16 so he hasn't signed his rights over? If he hasn't honestly all he has to do is talk to law enforcement, she can get in MAJOR trouble, like jail time trouble. That woman is crazy-.-

@kenitra I think he has visitation.. but she still keeps the kid from him.. here in nj no one has custody until someone files. @hermommy i think hes giving up fighting.. I'm talking to him now.. he just had a failed suicidal attempt and im like wtf is this woman putting him through =(

@lilfree16 Tell him, Lawyer up get proof of what she is doing and take her to court and show the judge that's just crazy but he would have to figure out what can be done.... I know that's a touchy subject

If he wants to see his child all he has to do is take it to court to have an agreement put in place that she will have to follow by court order. Here, 50% custody is automatically given to each parent and can only be less than that of both parents agree. He has the right to see his child.

@maybaby2016 nope girl, even in Texas you can terminate your rights and still have to pay depending on the judge you get, My dad tried it and realized if he would still have to pay for me what was the point😅

if he has to pay he has every right to take her ass to court and fight for visitation, and custody. At least visitation he can see the baby

This is what I've always heard ^ but after reading the comments I guess I could have heard wrong? I live in Texas so I don't know if maybe it's just like that here or whoever is talking is full of it, lol. I guess the only way to know for sure is to call a lawyer and ask....

if you terminate your parental rights you are no longer obligated to pay child support. The child is technically no longer yours (whomever is terminating their rights)

In MN a parent can sign over their rights and not pay anymore only if there is someone to adopt them as their own ( has to be a person your married to) because 2 people needs to be financially responsible for the child

I don't know New Jersey law, but I'm pretty sure in almost every state, whether you give up parental rights or not, child support has to be paid by the higher earning parent and amounts depend on % custody. They will take it out of your check if you don't pay and take it out of your taxes.

@mccokel14 im look at my state laws and they say you still have to pay. .i dont think its fair.. my friends bm is ruining his life.. this is likehis only option
