Some mommy opinions needed (nothing snarky please) there's 2 concerts next month that I really want to go to because God only knows the next time I'll be able to go to a concert after my little one is here because I don't want to be that mom that pawns her child off just so she can constantly go enjoy herself. Living in Connecticut, good concerts are few and far between and especially the artists I like to go see; and when they do come it's really rare that they come 10 minutes (by car) away from my house. The venue is General Admission and for anyone who knows Connecticut, it's New Haven's historic Toad's place. The first concert is June 14th, I'll be 23+3 and the other one is the 22nd and I'll be 24+4. For the concert on the 22nd, I've seen and met one of the artists live multiple times but I've never seen the co-headliner nor the opening act and really love all 3 artists, and the other artist I've only seen once. They are both hip-hop concerts (not that that makes a huge difference), one I know will be higher energy and some (friendly and welcomed) chaos (the 22nd) than the other. I feel like if I'm physically feeling fine I should be able to go to both because I know the "safe zones" where I won't be exposed terribly to anything crazy, and the show on the 22nd has a vip early entry package you can purchase so that I can get in and pick a nice spot where I'll be able to be close and see but get out if I need to. My child's father and a few people in my family are a little old school and think it's a terrible idea, but tickets are only 25 dollars for each show, so I won't feel terrible if I need to leave early due to not feeling well and I can and will leave if that happens, and the hospital I go to is on the same street maybe a good not even 10 minute drive away and there are uber drivers in the area that you have practically instant access too as well as police and emt that show up to work for the show so there's no question of me not being safe. I've thought long and hard about the situation. I'd be wearing something comfy and cute to both shows (sneakers, leggings, and an old tour tee of one of the artists for one show and maybe a bodycon dress and oversized camo jacket for the other one). I don't believe I'll look absurdly pregnant to the point where I'd be some sort of spectacle wearing either outfit, and I know that there are places I'd be able to stand where people won't be smoking near me even if some people do smoke in the venue. What do you ladies think? I have a solid plan if I do go, my child's father is being a butt and not telling me if he's going because he doesn't want me to go, but I'm sure I can get my best friend to go with me as a backup person if need be (although my child's father is the only other person who listens to either artist). Should I still go? I wouldn't consider it if I was 30+ weeks along, but if I can still work and function (semi) normally and my child has been fine and healthy with no complications, and strong this far (both of my parents are smokers although they try to refrain from doing so around me, and I live and work in an area where a lot of people smoke in public without regard to others and although I avoid walking in those areas as much as possible I can't always avoid it) then I think it'd be fine.

I don't see why you shouldn't go, have fun! I'm two weeks from my induction date and I can't even go to a flea market or the mall because I can barely walk. I missed out on a really cool festival at an amusement park nearby this weekend...I'm wishing my boyfriend and I had done more fun things earlier!

You'll be fine! Also, don't feel guilty if after the baby comes you want to go to a concert every now and again, as long as your child is with someone trustworthy you should be able to have fun for a few hours. There's this misconception that your life is over when you have kids, but you can still do the things you love if you have the money an a good support system. My friend has a two year old, works, goes to college and travels twice a year to different countries. Moms can have fun 😊

@arivera64, @shayleesimmons thanks ladies ❤️ I've always been the "If I feel fine there's no reason I can't do it" kind of person so it's really annoying that so many people are telling me I shouldn't go or can't go or it'd look bad for me to go. I mean, I understand and appreciate the concern, however, not that it's good, but there's nothing there that I haven't already been exposed to while pregnant or long before I got pregnant, and it's not like I'm exposed to these things 24/7. I feel that although being exposed to the smoke wouldn't be the healthiest, it's not like I'm the one doing the smoking or like I'm going to be sitting there letting people blow clouds of smoke directly in front of me to inhale. As long as I'm healthy and my little one is healthy and there's nothing wrong I'll definitely go.

@sarinunez, thank you! ❤️ luckily my mom is 100% willing to watch my baby anytime once it gets here so that I can go out every so often or if I want to travel out of state for a concert especially since I'll be the only one of my friends who has a child right now and she doesn't want me to feel cut off from them (but they'll also on the other hand have to be good about realizing I can't always do what they want no matter how bad I want to, so far they've been good so I don't think it'll be an issue). I definitely don't want to and refuse to be that parent that grows to be the "my life is over because I have a kid now" person, so it's nice that I do have that option. I just have to keep reminding myself about it because I'm so independent and so "I got this" about everything even when I know I'm being silly and should ask for help lol.

@jc100495 I think it's a natural maternal instinct. Once I found out I was pregnant I stopped wanting to buy myself stuff when I went shopping, it was weird. It's not like money was the issue I just feel guilty. You'll be an awesome mom, I think it's important that we take care of ourselves physically and mentally because we can't be good moms if we're a mess.

@sarinunez, lol same here! I'll buy myself something if I truly need it, but to be buying stuff left and right just because I feel like it I stopped doing the day I got the first positive test (and it was so hard especially since I work in a clothing store with a really nice discount and it was just approaching our employee appreciation period and I was so used to just buying stuff when I felt like it lol). I literally should write the last line of your comment over and over again and make copies and put them everywhere in my house because that's so true, and I feel like sometimes as moms and even moms-to-be our first line of thought is our child and then worrying about ourselves in every aspect, but we have to remember that we're equally as important and need to take care of ourselves in order to even take care of our child.

@bria, lol really?! On June 14th this newer artist named Anderson. Paak is going to be there, and on June 22nd A$AP Ferg, Tory Lanez, and this other guy named madeintokyo is going to be there. They have quite a few really good shows coming up but those are my top 2 that I want to go to lol. I literally think I've only found maybe 4 other people living in Connecticut on here besides myself.

Мама сына (4 года), беременна (34 нед.)

girl I just went to a Bad Fish concert last Friday at 7 months pregnant and will be attending Warped Tour in July two weeks before my due date. I'm going because I know that I won't be able to get out much after my son is born.
