For some reason I have been really wanting to try having my princess with no medication at all. I had my son with just gas however I feel it only sent me high and out of my head and instead I spent the time biting the mouth piece. Have any mothers thought about trying this? Or are going to try this? Or have tried this lol. Any information would be helpful ☺️

aww bless! yh same here...screaming and shouting really does waste your energy and it all becomes more frightening I think...when it's all quiet and peaceful it's definitely that much more special and the babies seem so relaxed too lol...thanks hun I'll definitely let her know and make sure I ring ahead and let them know at the labour ward this time too lol...thank you so much hun, I hope it's everything you want it to be xx

I agree, I spoke to my partner and he is all for me wanting to do this without anything so I know he will be the perfect birthing partner. Aww I hope you get to have your water birth this time as it is a very popular thing. Let ur midwife know incase she can help with making sure you have one. Loool that's funny 😂 I hope I feel full of energy as I want my son to be able to come and see his sister as soon as she's here and I know he will worry if I'm in a funny state as we have a strong bond. Aww ur doing an amazing job! I'm defo going for it. I like to be in control as well I don't like to be screaming and wasting my energy and I have to be calm and have a calm surrounding. My son came out so peaceful it was a beautiful experience. Xx @nadsx316

Yea I definitely think it will help me to feel more awake once she's here because I don't know how I got through the labour on gas and air because my head just went all loopy it was quite distracting. Thanks for telling me about your experience Hun @darciepenny X

Aww you should be, I think the key is defo to keep calm and relaxed and limit the noise and distractions around you, have someone there that knows that you just need peace and quiet and limited interaction especially when you're focusing on getting through the pain as calmly as possible. I've never tried a water birth but have always wanted to, it just seems to be that by the time I get there the pools are taken 🙁...I shall defo request it this time though as soon as I call the labour ward to tell them I'm in labour and will be in soon lol. For me pain relief wasn't an option because I don't do needles ans I don't like to feel spacey and not in control of what's happening, it frightens me lol (I'm a bit of a control freak). It really is exciting and I must say nothing like it! the feeling of accomplishment you feel afterwards is euphoric, I felt on a natural high and was so full of adrenaline and energy afterwards I got up and had a shower and tried to help the midwives clean up lol. In my spare time I freelance as a doula to friends and family who have wanted to try the methods I've used and have helped them to bring 4 babies into the world, it was wonderful to be able to work alongside the midwives and act as a birthing partner all at the same time, I would defo recommend it! xx

I used breathing techniques in the pool, I used gas and air while they broke my waters but didn't like it and wanted it to be as natural as possible, I did it on my own, the midwife allowed me to do whatever felt right and it was the most amazing experience of my life! Definitely do the same next time when I have another...I felt it helped with breastfeeding also, I didn't feel like there was a lack of connection due to drugs xxxx

Wow, amazing!! That's exactly how I feel. My body is telling me I should have her without anything and just keep things calm and quiet then on my emails I saw this method and was really interested. I couldn't have a water birth with my son and it wasted a lot of time having to get out the water and change rooms so I may not try that again. But definitely won't be having any medication as I don't like how the gas made me feel out of it. I'm really glad I have found someone who has been through it multiple times, I'm really excited now lol 🙈🙈. @nadsx316

yeah I have...but didn't know there was a name for it lol, it's just what my instincts told me to do and made me feel better. I've done it twice before and intend to do it again this time although I'm factoring in a water birth too. It's an amazing and empowering experience I can tell you that xx
