@cillagrace, Just wash it really good with soap and warm water, thwn with peroxide if you have any, then put something on it and you should be fine. My cats scratch me all the time, and I mean All the time.

My cats scratch my belly all the time because they think I'm their tower, but I never call and it usually heals up just fine
