Completely understandable, but unfortunately just one of those things that will eventually happen if you're not together. Your child will always know that you're mom and no one can take your place, no matter how great the other woman is

It is hard to accept that someone can step into the role of "mom" when you aren't there. I have had a hard time, but now that my boys are a little older, I am grateful that they have more people who love and care about them. I have to have a relationship with their 'stepmom' or I wouldn't be comfortable with it at all.

have you told him that it's nothing against him but you don't want her around your child because of the threats? a newborn can't tell you if they've been hurt by someone. I was going to say something different but read your comments and if there comes a time when you find someone and he does as well I would say don't introduce them to your child for 6+months. know that it's serious and that they're there to be around possibly for life and is that someone you can trust with your child, etc.

My step kids call me mom but that's only because their mom is a meth head an doesn't come around. It drives her nuts tho when her oldest calls me mom and actually yells at her and tells her that its disrespectful to call your mother by her first name and threatens to whip her and I'm just like bitch you left two years ago don't expect her to call u mom u don't deserve it! But this is probably not your situation seeing as you do not look like a meth head lol. This probably was of no help but if it was, glad to help. Lol
