They can not make you do anything. It's your body and your baby. They will give you the well we just want to better your baby and try and keep the baby in there as long as possible. But you have to look at the risks. A lot of people look at the benefits and not the bad things. I'm sure everything will be okay though, don't worry. You can always stop them as well if you have started @momma_jessa2. I'm not trying to talk you out of it. Everyone has different thoughts and I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. My first baby was early but is excelling in everything. No one even know she was a premie. My doctor is very pleased with all the things she is doing and can do at this age.

@momma_jessa2, stillborn death, miscarriage, blood clots, and of course preterm birth is one. Just scary to me. I feel that everything happens for a reason. I am considered night risk so I go into the doctor every 2 weeks for a cervix check and they keep a close eye on me. So far everything is going great. I also worked 50+ hours with my first and was always on my feet and lifting things I shouldn't of so I feel that's one reason I went into labor early. This pregnancy I am not working and a stay at home mom. Just do what you think is best for you. I had night mares about getting the shot and a bad feeling about it so that's another reason I opt out because my gut was telling me not to.

My doctor wanted me to get it because my first was born at 34 weeks. Me and my husband opted out of it because of the risks there were. I am crazy I to researching things like that. Most moms that I talked to said it helped by maybe 2 weeks keeping the baby in, but in most cases the baby was still early which I know 2 weeks is better then nothing. But for the risks I know my baby would be safe without it. I am now almost 31 weeks and my cervix is closed and long. My babygirl is healthy as can be and measuring great.

@momma_jessa2 my oldest was born at 32 weeks and my youngest was at 36 weeks. I didn't have the progesterone my second pregnancy, and my son was born healthy even though he was still early. I don't know if the progesterone has anything to do with the iugr but like I said nothing like it has happened before. At 31 weeks my daughter is measuring 2 lb 6oz and should be about 3.5 to 4 lbs. I don't know if I will go past 34 weeks with her, because she isn't growing and has a better chance out than in. I am not having any more kiddos, but if I was I probably wouldn't do the shots.... just my opinion.

See it's things like that, that get me worried, I was full term with my son and somehow for some reason my daughter was born at 36 weeks but she was normal weight and wasn't considered a premie, I just hope this shot doesn't mess things up, I kinda feel like it isn't necessary at least for me :-/ but then again I don't want to go into pre term labor and regret not taking this shot...ugh I just don't know what to do:( my first shot was today:-/ @boymomplusagirl

I do it every week from 16 weeks to 36 weeks. I have 5 more weeks to go. So far I haven't gone into labor so that's a plus, but my daughter is measuring small, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I was diagnosed with iugr and I never had that problem with either of my boys.
