Anyone else using Similac Alimentum formula for their little one? My son was born early at 36 weeks and was on exclusively breast milk until 1 month of age when he started having issues tolerating it. We tried several formulas and finally the pedi put us on Alimentum. It smells AWFUL but my son takes it down and seems to be feeling better. Anyone else have experience with this? What were your results. Did it work in the long term? It is significantly more expensive but I don't care as long as it helps him feel better. He has been gaining weight great all along so I know he was nutritionally fine, but I couldn't handle him feeling so miserable! Love to hear if anyone else had good luck switching to alimentum! Thanks!
@sktraum, how did you get insurance to cover it. I have excellent coverage so would love to try
My son is on this. He had colic really bad when he was born. So we switched to this and added Gerber sooth colic drops. He's almost 4 months old and has done so well. My insurance pays for it and it's delivered to my house every month.
@haileylouisechilders, thanks! That's very reassuring. We tried Similac bc the pedi had samples! Worth it if it works!! Glad I'm not alone in the breast milk issues.
My sons pediatrician sent an authorization to my health insurance. We get the premixed liquid cuz he got very gassy with the powder
