Did any of you ladies just have a blood test for downs at 16 weeks? Couldn't have combined test as…

Mine came after two weeks, if there is a high risk ratio you will get a phone call .

I had mine just a week and a half ago.. mine came back as high risk, after the quad test I received a call within 2 days. They say it takes 2 weeks but depends on the lab and how efficient they are. My midwife made sure mine got sent right away and tested. anyway, I went for a further scan which revealed all was normal but had amniocentesis anyway and result came back within 2 days (earlier than usual again). Baby is fine and healthy. hope this helps xx.

@mioaurellia, thanks Hun, I couldn't have the quad test at all, is that what you had?? They couldn't get baby's measurements so I can only have a 16 week blood test for downs x

Yes I had a quad test at 15+5. Oh you have a baby that likes to hide 😍 I had my baby's head measured and it came out fine. maybe you can wait until 16 weeks to get the quad test as it's the test in 2nd trimester to determine any chromosomal abnormalities. xx

@mioaurellia, they've told me it's too late to have quad test, that's why I can only have a blood test for downs xx

exactly that puzzled me as well.. I thought quad test can be offered from 15 weeks onwards. I got my scans and quad tests done on the same day. Did you ask them why you couldn't get that test done when you're already 15 weeks? xx @hawkie75

@mioaurellia, I'm totally confused now, I'm still getting the quad test just bloods only, she said I would be too far on to get the scan + bloods combined, if you get me? I went two weeks running but each time baby was hiding x

Did you have a scan at 12 weeks? If you had one then it might be a reason why you'll be having only bloods and not scan. But (fingers crossed this doesn't happen) if your bloods come back positive as high risk, you'll be offered a scan. I guess it depends on the hospital or maternity units. So far I had 2 scans as I didn't get myself registered until 14 weeks. so I got a scan and blood at 15 weeks and another scan before amniocentesis. xx 😍 My baby during the first scan was facing downwards and inwards, so the sonographer (I don't know if this is true) told me to chat along as we did the scan. She wiggled the probe around and somehow she managed to get the measurements after that. xx

Yea I had a scan at 12 weeks then 13 weeks both we're unsuccessful for the measurements, (so didn't get bloods done same day). Not to worry anyway I've got my blood test next wed (16 weeks) and see what happens then xxx thanks honey xxx
