plug can come and go , I mean its been about a year for me hard to remember but I lost mine for a couple days then it showed up with pink in the mucus but the labor didn't begin until maybe a day or so away

Also if you've had your cervix checked recently that can cause spotting

Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
