I'm about that rear facing life are you ?. My daughter is going on a year and half and still is rear facing and probably will be for another year !!!!
@emileeann43, I agree with the woman in the story! If they would say what car seat safety standards were used in accidents that occurred I truly believe people would be different about car seat safety. Those things are scary but most people don't think about them if it's not clearly put in front of them
Check that post out @tiffrae @santistevanmommie @amaperalta03
Yes! And I hate arguing with people who don't understand I'm just trying to help keep their little one safe
@santistevanmommie, me too cause some moms will take offense if you try telling the the correct way. So I post all the time on Fb about hoping they will read it
Ugh yes! It kills me when I see that stuff! I try to post car seat safety pics every week!
yes she will. My Son is a monster but I kept him in a 5 point harness until his 5th birthday at 60lbs. if I wanted to spend close to $400 on another seat I could keep him in a harnessed car seat until around 80lbs.
@santistevanmommie, that's awesome. Biggest pet peeve to see kids especially under one forward facing just cause the kid is big. We gotta educate these mamas
@tiffrae, my daughter is small she's only 21 lbs so she will be able to rear face for a while
I'll be rear facing my daughter until her 3rd birthday!
40lbs is around 3 to 4 years old that's super good.
@tiffrae, I know her seat only goes up to 40lb if I'm not mistaken. It's a basic convertible car seat but I think when baby comes my boy friend will get boy girls matching convertible car seats like the extra fancy ones.
depending on seat you can go up to almost 50lbs rearfacing

Just going to leave this here for y'all, just so you can see where rear facing and forward facing meet at age 1
How long do you guys keep your kids rear facing? My daughter will be 3 in September and I still rear face her, she also hasn’t hit 22 pounds yet either.
What’s the weight limit for rear facing??
Or do we wait until two years??
So, in IL you now have to leave your child rear facing until two years of age, my question is do any of you mommies know a good car seat that starts as rear facing but can transition to front facing? I am going to need to get a new car seat before long but I was hoping to be able to turn her front facing at a year old and now that that is out of the question, I have to figure something out.
@emileeann43, I have seen this before in my car seat group on Facebook. I will post pictures of correct car seat safety under a picture when I see something wrong. people still take offence to it but it doesn't bother me because I'm just reminding them of correct car seat safety. it's up to them as the parent to keep their child safe at all times not me.
