my pregnancy app says that my baby is forming his taste buds based on what I am eating. how tf do his taste buds form basef upon that when he gets fed through a umbilical cord? some of the stuff they come up with seems like bs to me.

Supposedly the amniotic fluid takes on the flavor of something you've just eaten. Baby takes gulps of it to practice breathing therefore it can taste it.
