MIL has been round tonight and was showing her the nursery etc. She saw some dummy's we'd bought incase our baby needs extra comfort (we're not 100% going to use them) and she was like 'oh no, you're not going to use them are you!'
We then showed her the steriliser and she said 'well you won't need that if you're breast feeding.' I explained about combination feeding or expressing so I'll be able to get some me time at some point in the first 6 months. She said 'oh I always just fed mine myself on demand, I never used a bottle.'
Uh oh, first signs of disagreement! 😬
Awe take no notice hun :) My girl is 3months old and I've never once given her a dummy :) Don't think she needs one :) :) It is a personal preference of course :) xx
My mother in law is great but very opinionated. I do let her think she's getting her point across but let most of it go over my head if I disagree xx
@winterbaby95, Yeah we've said if she doesn't need one then great, but our friend who is breast feeding had a day last week where baby was on the boob for 8 hrs with a 10 min break and most of time wasn't feeding, just wanted the comfort. She's using a dummy now to get a break and avoid damaged nipples. We just want to be prepared for all options.
