When did nannies and sitters start making $20 an hour in the Midwest?? For one child! I know 1:1 care is great but $600+ a week for childcare is ridiculous. No one can afford that unless they are independently wealthy.

@momagainjj82, @sarahemccormick one girl wanted to bring her 4 year old alone AND make 650 a week with 3 paid sick days a month. I don't even get 3 sick days a month from work.

@munchkin22, I agree but I don't know how anyone can afford it. If I had 2 kids then absolutely. But Can they honestly expect to make triple what a daycare center charges when they have no education/license/etc? No way

It is a lot of money, but it's an important job. That person is taking care of the most important thing in the world to you. What's really outrageous is people wanting to pay child care providers next to nothing for keeping their child alive and happy. That's like putting a price on being a mom. It's a priceless job because it is the most important job any woman can do.

That's crazy! I used to nanny 2 kids and charged $10 an hour. $20 an hour is pretty outrageous
