Ovulation tests will pick up on hcg but you would have a very dark positive on a pregnancy test before an ovulation test can detect it.

@t3rih, I read online sometimes the opk still gets a faint test line because lh is always in a women's system just increases a lot towards ovulation. so the faint line could just be lh still..

I am not ovulating. I ovulated this month already. 12 days ago. I'm asking if it could have picked up earlier hcg hormones than the pregnancy test. (And yes they do pick up hcg hormones bc I tried to see if one would come back positive when I was pregnant with my son)

okp is not positive it has to be as dark as the other line and you have lh in you body.

It can be possible for opk to detect hcg but if the pregnancy test is negative then it's way too low. You may just be getting ready to ovulate
