Applied for my first few credit cards (Target, JC Pennys, Khols). Any other credit card(s) i should apply for? I have no credit so i figured this is my next step. Plus i feel we can handle the payments.
I have the capital one journey card everywhere else denies me even with having pretty good credit
I wouldn't be able to tell you that honestly. I just went on the website and see if I qualified and applied afterwards and apparently I got denied online but they sent me mail telling me which one I qualified for (this was like 3 years ago so I don't remember which one it was exactly) and I did everything and started at 300 went up to 500 and still there cause I've been stuck on the payments lol
I got denied by everyone except capital one, try them!
go to the bank and ask for a loan officer they will help you and explain things to u also.
also getting a mater card capital one etc is better than a specific store card. also keep in mind every time they try to get you a card it runs your credit which also lowers it. so you don't wana run a credit check for these cards a lot either.
a debit card won't do that. this is how it works. you get a credit card thru the bank but you have to secure it with cash (its called a secured credit card). like deposit 500$ and your card limit will be 500$. use the card each month and pay ontime. if you don't pay they'll take the money from your account. or get a secured bank loan. so put whatever amount in a CD. take a loan against it and make payments. those r the best ways to get credit quick. plus you won't run into problems because they're secure. just don't pay them off early. pay the amount due each month. fyi: credit lines don't look at amounts they look if it's paid back. using a card for a candy bar each month looks the same as putting all your bills on the card to them. so u Don't need to max them out is what I'm saying. which you don't wana really do that anyway... any more questions??
I got a small loan through a loan place that reports to the credit bureau. after 6 payments I was able to buy a brand new car.
@kysonsmama, you open a bank account and get a debit card that can also run on credit. Then put your phone bill, car payment, or any other bills on said card. As long as you have the bills paid on time and never go in the negative it will raise your credit, if you're constantly going in the negative you will lower your credit. Honestly credit cards that are just credit are like the devil. If you can't afford the price of the item + the bill/interest that you'll be paying then it would probably be best to not get in credit card that is just credit, they're a good thing sometimes but they're also a good way to go into debt.
Also, applying for too many credit cards can actually hurt your credit.
Are there any bills in your name? I have zero credit also and was told that would help build it. The only problem is your activation/installation/down payment will most likely be extremely high..
What the heck?! So how do i get credit started? @alexzandriar
If you have 0 credit , they most likely won't accept you. I also have no credit and thought I would apply for credit cards like those, and every single place denied me because I had no credit, lol
Anyone else get weird phone calls regarding a credit card that they don’t even know about?! Then when I tell them I don’t have any credit cards they hang up 🤷🏽♀️
Got my first credit card. Never wanted one but this is the only way i know how to build credit and get my scores up. How long till you start seeing improvement to your credit score after paying it off every month on time??
Any good advice on first credit card for someone with no credit? I have no credit number at all. Who will give me one?
Who else has financial issues within their relationship?? Or am I just lucky 🙄🙄
Not sure if I'm being just mean or what. But my SO used $160 from me this morning. I gave him my bank card because he needed $60 to get material for work. His boss was going to give it back to him at the end of the day. So instead of $60 he took out $160. Which I was a little pissed. (One of the reasons I just can't let him use my card. I have to go get the money from the atm myself if I'm giving it to him) then, to...
Be careful. Having too many will mess your credit up
