my first ob appointment is Friday and I'll only be 4 weeks. my sister in law says he does ultrasounds on the first appointment. will he be able to even see anything? I had a ultrasound at 5 weeks with my daughter and could see the little dot where she was but 4 weeks seems like I wouldn't be able to see anything

the babys heartbeat starts at approximately day 18 of pregnancy.

it all depends on the doc, my first visit was mainly prenatal visit. then the second visit is when they did the ultrasound, which put me at 12 weeks. but my first appointment was at 8 weeks.

Most likely not..... The heart doesn't even start beating till 5-6 weeks

unless they do a vaginal ultrasound.. lol. maybe you could see something
