I have the second part of my down syndrome screening at the same time as my dating scan, as its only a screening they wont extract my placenta will they? Absolutely hate needles and im sure its the diagnosis test that involves the stomach needle???

No...the bloods are taken and the measurements are done via scan :) The needle in the stomach is offered to you if your results come back high risk. You don't have to get it done if you don't want to. They don't extract the placenta. They extract the amniotic fluid. This is called Amniocentisis x
you should a letter with your results, I did but if they were high yhey said they would phone me xx
when I had my dating scan all they done was take bloods and they me if they came back high then I had the option to have the needle in my belly but I told them I would refuse that anyway x
No just bloods taken and the rest that and look at measurements from the scan to determine whether or not you're high risk xx
