I must say, the Healthcare marketplace is a freaking joke.... we signed up thru that for some insurance last year, all was well and good, at the end of the year I got a couple emails and we got a couple letters stating : if we didn't change plans we would be enrolled into the same plan we had.... well today I got explanation of benefit letters in the mail for my husband and myself.... both unpaid because "expenses were incurred after termination of benefits".... ummmmm no I don't freaking think so we were supposed to get the same coverage as before and we never terminated a damn thing.... now we each have $160 bills not to mention our daughters 2 well baby visits that are probably not covered.... I am beyond pissed especially if we have been sending them checks for premiums and they took them.... I could seriously scream.... and now we will take another hit on taxes next year because we apparently didn't have insurance.... sorry rant over

That's complete BS. I'd start calling some supervisors to see if they can verify that y'all were still paying and back date the info so you don't take the hit next year.

we have been paying and they have been cashing the checks, we don't have coverage so they have been cashing the checks for what??? my husband said he wanted the money back and they told him he would only get 80% of it back... I am thinking I'm going to call either the bbb or the state government and report fraud, since they are taking our money and it isn't being used for the purpose it's to be used for, is someone pocketing it, is it just floating in an imaginary account? it's just ridiculous.... we haven't had insurance since January I beleive so we r going to take the hit unfortunately, it was like $200 for the 3 months last year so here's hoping we can get some insurance soon @mommagotbump16

See our insurance company unenrolled us because of "lack of payment" a couple of times (they keyed in our acct # incorrectly!), but when we found out each time, we faxed them the proof that we didn't fail to pay. Then they renewed it and backdated the policy to begin so we didn't have a lapse in coverage. Since you didn't cancel your policy and they kept cashing your checks, I would hope you could do something similar. When they backdated ours, all those claims were resubmitted with the insurance company too. I hate this is happening to y'all @sarahdrew

thanks @mommagotbump16 my husband talked to them yesterday and they said that we didn't sign up for insurance renewal (the way I read the emails it would be automatically renewed) and that they would have caught on to the fact they were cashing our checks in a month or so.... I may have him call and reinstate it, my dad told him they would do that, hopefully something happens with it, I don't want to keep paying $163 for my daughter's well baby visits
