depends on the size of your newborn. I dont remember with my first but my nephew is almost two months old and hes still in newborn at 9lbs.

i would stick with about 2? maybe 3. i had a preemie so she was in NB for awhile, my niece never even fit in a NB she was a 1 from the start. it really does depend but I'd say 2 NB & a box of 1s ("

Are u having a baby shower? I wouldn't purchase boxes of newborn. I'd wait to see what diapers I get from the baby shower. I would also wait to see how big my baby is. We didn't buy diapers. We let everyone else get them. We have about 6-8 bags of newborn diapers to go through but my baby weighed 8 lbs and they put her right in a size 1 at the hospital. I'm using the newborns and we're praying to get through them. I hate wasting people's money.

My son was 8lbs 15oz at birth and only used 2 1/2 packs of nb he's been in size ones since two weeks old.

1s will work tho, you could just fold the front down a little so it doesn't irritate the baby's belly button (:

@gcpaschal that's what I'm scared of buying to much. I already had my baby shower and got 1s and 2s no newborns. @carterclaytonb that's what my mom was saying with us and she had 5 kids and said we all were in nbs for a couple weeks and switched to 1s. I didn't even think about if she's a big or small baby

I'd just get 1 or 2 packs and then switch to 1s it's better that they're a little big than a little small. So they don't leak.

You can also switch the size at the store from what I heard. I would get one bag if it were me.

2 boxes at most if you need more you can get more but you should be good with 2 we had 2 boxes and he almost out grew then before they were gone. he was 6lb 7oz he will be 2 months tomorrow I bought 6 packs of honest diapers unfortunately (they are not my favorite pampers are) and they are generally smaller hes about to out grow them but the pampers 1 fit perfect

my baby was 9lbs we switched to size 1 by day 3 lol so I had to return all newborn boxes .
