Massage and bicycle her legs. I wouldn't do prunie juice at that age or water. Nurse a lot, breastmilk is a natural laxative
well with breastmilk like mommy_faith said she could absorb everything and not have anything to poop out. but with formula it's not like that, if her stomach is hard I would try things like gripe water, gas drops, massages. I wouldn't jump to prune juice just yet that's a little harsh on such a small tummy. if you wanna try a juice try pear juice mixed with water. pear juice is very gentle and the sugar in it helps loosen things up.
@mommy_faith, @meagansimone, @iqrahp5, @crunchymomma, She is breastfed.but she does get formula once a day depending on how hungry she is. Her tummy has been a little hard feeling and she's been very gassy. She has been fussier than usual and doesn't want to sleep. She also has a cold too.
my pediatrician said after about 4 days I should call her and just let her know. if she's not crying in pain at all my ped won't do anything besides suggest something to help her go, but if she's crying in pain then they'll ask us to come in.
@savannahrae, try an ounce of prune juice and an ounce of water mixed.... should do the trick.... repeat it 2 times a day
I wouldn't give any type of solids. After 4 weeks, a breastfe baby can go up t 14 days without pooping. Give a belly massage and bicycle her tummy.
Breast milk or formula? Sometimes with breast milk it is all absorbed so there's nothing to put out!
I know this sounds weird, but you could try pancakes from McDonalds. It never fails that it makes my LO poop it could makes yours too! But my daughters ped said as long as she doesn't seem in pain and her belly is soft she is fine!
My LO went 5 days and then pooped. How old is your baby?
@savannahrae, then try mommy's bliss gripewater
