Okay no judgement please! I am so scared right now, baby girl tried a couple bites of our food and hubby out of nowhere pauses from giving it to her and panics, he put honey on top before baking it and forgot that she couldn't have honey because of the risk of botulism....I read up on it and (if it was present in this honey) the bacteria would most likely be killed by the heat, however some spores may be able to survive...the symptoms are scary and she could suffer for months or years afterwards if she gets it and it can be deadly....I am so scared right now, what should we do?? We don't have our insurance cards yet or a doctor to call 😭

call the ER and ask to speak to a nurse. they will tell you what to look out for, before bringing her in.

I would just keep an eye on her but if it was was a little I wouldn't worry about it.

@momma1, @kelseys @karnamarie @edomke, we called the ER and spoke with a nurse, she said she can't give any medical advice and we would have to come in to talk....the symptoms online say sleepiness, trouble feeding, slow or weak movements, etc....abd that it can manifest between 6 hours and 10 days, I know I should panic too much because of how rare it is to get botulism and that many babies were given honey before it was recommended to wait 1 year recently in 1997.....what do you ladies think? Should I take her in and talk to a nurse there or just watch out for signs?

I'd wait and just see for a day or two. Since it's such a low risk that she could get it especially since it was cooked. If you still feel super uneasy about it go in tomorrow or the day after.

Okay, thank you so much @santistevanmommie, God I feel like the worst mom for letting this happen, I had no idea he put honey on it and he completely blanked....

It happens. Everyone makes mistakes I'm sure she'll be fine. Just keep an eye on her if she seems off to you run her in.
