I was sent to one. Because my quad screen came back with an increased of Down syndrome. I went, spoke with a genetic specialist who explained exactly what odds were & what testing was available, if I wanted it. Next they did an ultra sound to look for anything abnormal. After that they drew my blood, for more advanced testing in the baby. After it was all done, my baby is just fine.
