Anyone worried about maternity allowance (not statutory maternity pay) because they are on a low…

I'm on maternity allowance as I wasn't employed long enough by my employer, I get 139 a week, but it gets paid to me every 2 weeks @sweetsesame x

My hours dropped at work so before I left it effected getting smp, I am now on maternity allowance and on the low side compared to some. I get £95 per week xx

Really? That's good but did they still base it on what you earned while you were with your employer? I'm worried because I think I've been with mine long enough but due to a zero hour contract, I'd be lucky if I get enough shifts to make £80 per week @beccastirlingx

Mines zero hour @sweetsesame . Hence why my employer got away with dropping hours but I seen a lawyer for employment discrimination. My hours only dropped when I announced I was pregnant xx

Mine too! @stacey804 sorry I didn't see your comment before I replied. I used to get average 16-25 hrs per week! Then all since January (after announcing pregnancy) my hours were reduced! How you getting on with lawyers?

It's fine (: Yeah mine dropped and then they started harassing me and saying nasty things :/ if I wanted to take it further I had to pay but they said I would win the case of I went further but I just couldn't be bothered and wanted to enjoy my pregnancy mot worry about them. I'm still classed as being employed although when my maternity finishes my notice will be going in. Xx

@sweetsesame, I'm sure it is yeah, I wasn't taxed and got it all back dates from the day I went on maternity leave
