We had to give up our beloved cats a month or two ago because my husband and I were worried about them adjusting to the baby. Plus they were constantly getting into stuff in the baby's room and tearing stuff up. I loved them but, unfortunately, I had to let them go. It was incredibly hard and I cried for a few days. NOW, my husband and I wanted to fill a void in our hearts and try taking on a dog that we knew would be good with the baby and we could easily train (cats are obviously very hard to train). Plus, we wanted our baby to have a friend to grow up with. Enter Blue. We adopted him from a lady who that had a farm. She said he was house trained and great with kids, so we got him. I wanted a puppy to train, but my husband said an older dog that's trained would be easier on me while taking care of the baby so I agreed. I believe Blue will be great with the baby, but unfortunately, he's not house trained like we were told. I already have issues getting up and down the stairs and am pretty late in my pregnancy, so I can't just constantly pick up after this dog and scrub the carpet after his messes he makes. I won't have the time or energy to run him outside when my husband is at work and I have a newborn to feed or care for. Plus, I'm in school as well. I'm not leaving my baby inside alone while I go walk this damn dog and I sure as hell won't be taking him outside. Especially with Colorado weather always being temperamental and it will be rainy at times. I went downstairs to go get a bowl of cereal at 4 am and it smelled like straight piss. But I couldn't find the spot to clean it up. I decided instead of waking my husband up, I would text him so he can read it and know that, sorry, but the dog just isn't working. We just simply can't have pets until we move out of this townhouse and I have time to help care for it. I just can't do this. My husband isn't going to want to give him up, but I'm gonna have to make him.
