I haven't had an appointment yet, will they do an ultrasound? I'm 8 weeks and 2 days!

Once you go to your Dr appt they will set you up with a ultrasound appointment.

they should. I had to wait till I was 8 weeks pregnant. they took a urine sample. but did the sonagram before testing my urine to tell me I was pregnant. the scream showed 3 round things. I thought I saw 3 babies. but it was two babies and a good sak. my husband was in shock. we we're in shock and nobody believed us.

Oh I am SO nervous that I'll have twins! My husbands nana (his dad's mom) is a twin, and there is at least one other set of twins on his side and 4 sets of twins on my moms side. It skipped his dad and it skipped my mom too. Should I mention that when I go in @shannaa24

My first doctors appointment was to take a pregnancy test to confirm it then my second appointment was to get a exam done and I got a ultrasound done too, I was actually 8 weeks and 2 days when I got it done (:

You will probably have a internal ultrasound because its to early for the belly

Depends on your doctor, my first at 8w it was transvaginal. But my doctor does an us every time i go.

I'll be 8 weeks and 6 days when I go in(on Tuesday). @desssss What kind of questions should I ask when I go in?

@rachelmetzger, I've read it usually goes off the moms side. I thought I only had one set of twins in my family who had past away at a very old age. we're my great aunts. I always thought I would have twins. but was never sure. so very surprised when we seen the sonogram. you get used to the idea. it's a blessing. It definitely sounds like you could get pregnant with twins. it could happen this time or another time. I know all my pregnancy test were extremely dark and my first test digital came up in seconds. I definitely wasn't expecting a positive. I was trying but I had been off the shot for 4-5 months. and didn't expect to get pregnant so soon. Twins can happen anytime. just go into your sonogram and see what your doctor says. You don't have to worry. I have a 4 yr old boy now twin boys on the way. I definitely showed faster this time around.

My first test wasn't too bright, then a few days later I took another on and the second line appeared in less than a minute and it was very dark. Should I tell my dr that twins run strong in both sides of the family?

@rachelmetzger, you don't have to tell them about twins in your family unless they see them on the sonogram. They usually ask you that question if they see twins. your going in to confirm your pregnancy. they should do a urine sample and a sonogram. So make sure you tell them a head of time with your appointment you want a urine test and a sonogram done. not every doctor does it. With twins my hcg levels were extremely high. so mine digital test came up fast. I took a few more over the month and first response line test. everything said yes, and dark red lines. with my first born son, I took a plus sign test early in the morning. I didn't have my glasses on so I thought I saw a negative. my husband had told me in the next hour it was positive. I was 3 days last then as well. The clinic did a test. showed up negative. went back and it said positive. 8 weeks is when they schedule your first sonagram. definitely with my twin pregnantcy I've had alot of hcg. so there was no doubt in any of my test. I definitely recommend first response digital test to tell you yes or no before going with any line test. Don't buy those crappy blue dye test. they always run. I definitely don't trust them. before getting pregnant I tested 9 of those all faint positives. got a digital and it was negative. then I finally got pregnant with my twins. I wasn't expecting to take a positive, but I figured I'd go ahead and test since I was late. figured my period would end up showing up, because sometimes that happens. I peed on it, walked a way for a second and came back with a big Yes on the test. I had to clear my eyes. I could believe I was pregnant. Husband was told he had low T after our son was born, and they were amazed we had our son. but I always knew there's atleast that 1% chance. and now I got 3 sweet boys. I'm very excited to be pregnant with twins. both pregnantcies were definitely new for me. so a surprise in each blessing.
