How much should a 3 week old be drinking?? He was 8 lb 15 oz at birth, up to 9 lb 12 oz this past Tuesday. I'm breast feeding and supplementing and I'm pretty sure he's hitting a growth spurt. At night I give him a bottle of formula to try to get him to sleep (he wakes up every hour to hour and a half the past few nights😖) I give him a 4 oz bottle of formula and he sucks it down. Tonight after the bottle I nursed him again bc he was clearly still hungry... How much is too much?? He's been super gassy and uncomfortable too. First time mommy just wanting my son to be happy. Please help 😔

No. I can't. All he does is eat and it's too much. I get no sleep. So I need to supplement him sometimes.

Just breastfeed at night if you can! If you can breastfeed just fine there's really no reason to supplement. 4oz sounds like a lot to me though. I usually game my kids 2oz at that age. You can over feed them formula but you can't over feed them breast milk.

when breastfeeding I know that the policy is to absolutely feed on demand no matter what any one tells you, baby's tummy knows how much breast milk it needs. but since you supplement I'm not sure what the rules are on that.

Look up the size of a stomach of how old ur baby is. Whatever you produce is enough
