Can you sleep on your back while pregnant some people say you can and some people say you can't and I always forget to ask my doctor 😩😩 my sides are killing me can't sleep on them anymore
I sleep on my back and up till about 16 weeks I slept on my tummy and I only stopped because it was uncomfortable😂 I say do what you want to do sleeping on my back is starting to get uncomfortable but not crazy 😂
i fall asleep on my sides and wake up lying on my back and ive done it no problem during all of my pregnancies and my babies are all perfectly fine!!!! i wouldnt use google or any search engine for medical advice by doing so it adds avoidable stress i recommend calling your doctor and not listen to someone who is pulling all their info from the internet hopefully the pain will reside so you can get you a goodnights sleep

Google isn't 100% accurate it's not really an educated guess if their not written by doctors themselves. I heard you can sleep anyway that's comfortable. but if you do want to lay on your back try laying with a pillow slightly tucked underneath your back it works miracles. to get the best answer ask your doctor. everyone will say something different.
but yours is when you got it off google? 🤔 and i wasnt telling her what to do. in fact i told her it is uncomfortable and i myself dont sleep on my back, so im not sure exactly where you got that i told her what to do? im telling her what my ob told me. youre telling her what you got off google. that doesnt seem right to me tbh
im pretty sure my ob knows the answer more than google. cuz it looks like thats where you got your answer from. but ok @tmariewein
@ann0805 the baby will let you know if its uncomfortable. so even if u do fall asleep on your back or stomach the baby will know to catch your attention so he/she can get comfortable
@ann0805, I asked my dr this yesterday and if I can lay on my stomach, she said yes it most likely won't be comfortable for that long and belly up to 15 minutes if your comfortable. But they even say not to birth lying flat bc of blood vessel like @tmariewein said but you'll get uncomfortable anyways. Maybe try pillows under sides or even under shoulders and head so your sort of sitting up?!
Actually it can cause harm to the baby. If you sleep on your back, the weight of the baby can push on a major artery in your back that brings blood from your lower body to your heart, meaning the BABIES blood supply can be cut off. Doctors don't tell you this stuff for nothing.
Ok thanks it's just when I sleep in my sides it be killing me so I was gonna try me back to see if it's better but if not I'm gonna go get one of those pillows
it does no harm to the baby, but it does hurt. when you sleep on your back the baby sits on a nerve that makes your back ache. also i get cramps whenever i try sleeping on my back so i try to avoid it as much as possible
