@ethemy1315, true but that just goes to show that those aren't your children's God parents.. They're your friends lol I knew who would be in my sims life based on my pregnancy and the fact that my circle is super small. But just pay attention to who loves your child like you would then take it from there

@spudssmommie I feel it. but the way I am. I'll snatch it and consider no one a Godmother. my daughter has an amazing Godmother as well. but if she wasn't in her life i wouldn't care but I wouldn't give the name to someone else either I'd leave it as is.. and make sure someone who truly cares for her (if something ever happens to me or her dad) take over instead of the suposably godparent.

Well, in my son's case, his "god mother" lives 10 minutes away and didn't even come to his first or second birthday party. She's a cake designer and didn't offer to make him a cake in the 3 years he's been born. And only tries seeing him when the family gets together. My son gets to see his god father for the first time since he was 3 months old and my daughter gets to meet him for the first time, hell I'm meeting him for the first time in June. But we want the god parents to be involved in our kids lives. That's super important. The point of them are to make the child feel safe and at ease when their parents are gone. They have to be comfortable and I doubt my kids will feel comfortable with someone who never participated in their lives.

@myjulyprincesseli, my son has 2 very dedicated GMs but in realty its nothing but a title. If someone is gonna be there they'll do so regardless of the title. But if you won't have the decency to treat my kid right the. You don't deserve the title point blank. I have no problem snatching a title from a deadbeat and giving it to someone who cares about my child.

@spudssmommie I guess that's not how it is with our family we keep our word to chose one Godmother and only 1. not because they stop talking we decided to break up with that 1 and find a new 1. we stick to it and keep pushing forward regardless if they end up being there or not. but I mean if that's what others do then it's all good. but to me and mines it wouldn't be okay to throw around the "Godmother" Word to everyone just because the 1 that is couldn't be a good 1.

@myjulyprincesseli, says who. Yes it is the point of a GM or GD is to be your child's parent in your absence... If they can't do that then find new godparents

We didn't legalize. It just sucks that I trusted her godmother to be there but never makes an effort to be apart of her life anymore, my youngest daughter's godparents only seen her once in her short 3 1/2 month life and they don't try to see her or ask about her.. I feel like I chose shitty people for godparents 😢

It's YOUR child. If you feel you want to change it, change it. Most people as someone to be their child's god parents but don't legalize it, but even if it's legalized, the parents can ALWAYS change it.

You can do whatever you wish. My children have a godfather and not a godmother because their "godmother" couldn't live up to the duties of it.

no its not okay to choose a new God mother.. but that sucks that she is ignoring her like that poor baby :(
