My son's behavior is driving my husband/his dad and I more towards separating I think...my husband comes home from work and cant even deal with being around him at all and he literally doesnt even want to be home so he goes to bed super early to escape...he is, I swear to Gid, the worst behaved child in the entire world - at least that I've ever seen. I really have no idea what to do. The mental health help world for children (and heck, even adults ) here in FL is slim to none and I can't seem to get the kind of help he needs...he has ODD and Bipolar type 2..He needs placement at a residential facility for at least a year to straighten him out! He's driving hia family apart with his behavior and he doesn't even care ....
@laurap, ^^^ personally I think the comparison of a baby pooping in their pants was really silly because that situation is far from different than what she was trying to get across. @sarahemccormick
I see where your coming from mama, issues like that can put a strain on your personal life with your husband. You admitted it has to do with medical issues (so its not purposely done) and stuff that involves that can cause tension between a marriage because its a situation your both dealing with thats tough. The way you worded everything is common sense when reading. Your upset and sad with whats going on in your family.
@sarahemccormick I am so sorry you are going through this, now I know how my mother felt! I wasn't diagnosed with bipolar and anger issues until 17, but It was really hard on her i would run away and do some other bad things. I know that yes the way a child acts can tear apart a family. I salute you because you're one if the best mommy's I have seen yet! All these women judging you make me mad because they have NO idea what you have been through and neither do I, I can only think of one thing that I know happened and couldn't believe he had done that. Praying for you momma! Keep doing you, my mom admitted me for about a week to straighten me out for a bit, maybe you should look into it😳😢
I totally understand where you are coming from. Even though it's not my child that acts out like that. My sister has a double personality and bi polar something and acts the same way! Put him in a residential, my sister hated it, and started to act better. She has some episodes here and there, but they are a lot better than how she was.
@sarahemccormick, I've had enough of idiots on here today. I called her out for you. :)
@tamayobaby, check out my response on her post. Who's the dumb parent, now?
@sarahemccormick, I know this sounds harsh but you can get a court order that makes him take his meds and if he doesn't they will commit him... something to look into call your local non profit mental health facility and they can let you know the process to go through the courts
im sending prayers mama!!!! nobody doesn't know what you are going thru and for the moms who are judging you FUCK off cause you don't know what the hell she is going through !!!
Also, to the other mothers who are judging this woman and her situation, you guys seriously need to back off. We're not the ones living this life, it's not effecting our lives at all, but that doesn't mean to judge this woman and her family. This app is for helping, a place for us women to come when we feel like we have no where else to go. Of course were not always going to agree with each other parenting but for goodness fucking sakes stop being so quick to judge and give this woman a shoulder to cry on when she can't do it else where.
I'm not sure what to say to help your situation but I just want to send hugs your way. You're not a bad parent(s), apparently you guys tried finding help for him and he's not accepting it. First thing; you definitely need to find away for him to take his medicine, secondly; your husband shouldn't find ways to escape from what's going on because it's going to put a wedge in your marriage. Your son has deeper issues going on and you guys need to figure out what that is, what triggers him, what makes him mad & lash out.
I'm with @atlas, I would put medicine in his food or drink. Don't expect him to take the meds on his own especially with him being so defiant. I also agree that there are deeper issues going on with him. You have a very unhappy child who has medical issues on top of it but getting him to get meds in his system will calm his behavior and will make things easier for the family in general. Im sure it's very overwhelming for him as well. Please don't give up on him
Oh goodness that sounds like a nightmare I'm so sorry you and your family has to go through this. and he is older enough to know what he is doing so i can see how it is affecting your marriage prayers @sarahemccormick
@sarahemccormick, My parents marriage problems were definetly influenced by his behavior so there is a connection
@sarahemccormick, I hope he gets the help he needs ! my brother was also bipolar and my mom had so much trouble with him until he went to rehab and spent a year there and after came out 100% better has a job , graduated highschool early, and is going to college our relationship is better than ever and you can post whatever you want because this is your page
@laurap, he GETS special attention, he basically gets ALL of my husband and my attention while we have 4 other kids to take care of and be there to parent, and Marcus makes it impossible for anybody in this house to live a normal life....maybe you should try to be more understanding rather than snap at me because I needed to vent. If you cant understand where I'm at, you really shouldn't be commenting at all. I highly doubt you have nearly as much experience at parenting as I do, as my oldest child is 17, and I have also worked with many children in schools in the past , so please, spare me the rudeness.
also could be possible hes jealous of his siblings, could yall be giving his siblings more attention because they behave really does sound like hes doing it for attention n he knows you will react if he acts up
yeah i was guessing about being bipolar only way going to get better is if he takes his meds even if yu habe to put it in his food sounds horrible but yikes when my cousin doesn't take hers total different person
he has bipolar type 2 and ODD, he sees a therapist, psychiatrist , psychologist, co unselor, is on meds that refuses to take and etc
Ouch... That's tough. Maybe family and couples therapy. Sometimes talking to a third party helps
@sarahemccormick, have you got him to see a therapist they actually do help well if you get one hes comfortable with also sounds like he has to much time on his hands does he play any sports maybe try get him into boxing relieve some of the anger it seems he has towards yall for some reason. Honestly sounds likes he acting out and bored. I honestly did some of the samethings about that age
You gave me the right to comment when you shared this post on social media. Your son may have problems but at the end of the day he is a kid who obviously needs some special attention. By no means I'm i attacking you but i do know a thing or two about being a parent.
@laurap, YOU DON'T KNOW MY SON AND WHAT HE IS DOING! SO SHUT UP! IM NOT SOME BITCH MOM BEING MEAN TO HER SON! This boy is threatening the lives of the rest of my family, you know NOTHING about what's going on here!!!! He is exacerbating pre existing issues!!!!
wow i'm sorry if you take this the wrong way but to accuse your own child of the problems you and your partner are javing is unacceptable. @sarahemccormick
this type of stuff every single damn day from the minute he gets up till he goes to bed...got himself suspended for 4 days from school so Ive been dealing with him here at home...it's like the school punishes me, not him
OMG....I have a binder full of things he does on a daily basis...anything bad he can possibly do to break things, be violent, hurt his brother and sister, destroy my house, lie, steal, do illegal things, commit fraud online by stealing people's debit cards, stealing money from me, his dad, his teachers, other people in school, EXTREMELY disrespectful towards my husband/his dad and I, cusses at us, tells at me, tells me I'm a "piece of sh*t" says he hates my guts, stole cigarettes from his grand dads house, etc the list GOES ON @atlas
Okay ladies I need advice. My husband came home from work a few weeks ago and decided he no longer wanted to be a husband or father. He told me that the kids and I need to leave and if we dont he will no longer pay the Bill's. I am unable to work because of high risk pregnancy. My only option is to move back to ohio and stay with my parents. (We live in Kentucky now) also last weekend I was admitted to the hospital and he was home with the kids...he decided to just walk out and leave them home a...
Make your own breakfast!
At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
I need help!!! Something is wrong with my dog and I have no money or job to take him to the vet. I think hes dying idk
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...

Am I wrong to be upset? Last night I was running a fever, weak, tired, sore, my left boob feels like it got used as a punching bag. I asked my husband to call out of work today to help me with the kid so I could get some rest. He went to work. I texted him this morning. Part of me thinks I mean. The other part of me thinks I was fine for saying that because he should've stayed home with us.
11 month old and 13 year old is two completely different age groups. for someone who obviously has no experience with an adolescent she (laurap) shouldn't be saying anything about raising one. you're not doing anything wrong @sarahemccormick and as far as I can see on here you're a good mom.
