Everyone finds it strange how vincent doesn't have a dummy, is there any other babies who haven't got one?
Neither of my children have a dummy my 2 year old has never had one.like you say I never brought one. my 3 month old doesn't use one but in her first 2 weeks I had to give her a dummy every now and then to help her learn to suck ( she was 3 weeks early) she hasn't had it since she's mastered sucking thou.
There's pros and cons. Can help reduce the risk of SIDS. And is good for a babies sucking reflex if unable to feed straight away when born.
God id be thankful she doesn't want it not trying to force her to have it @charliebrown89! Id be telling them where to put it xxx
Melody spits hers back out again which i am glad of but my mum and nan insist on trying to get her to have one. if she doesn't want it, she doesn't bloody want it 😲 xx
Bottles and dummy's are basically fake nipples, he has a boob whenever he wants so I don't think he really has the urge to use anything else, and we co sleep so he doesn't really need a comfort blanket or anything like that, who knows it could all change later down the line @ssumner xxxx
My mum bought us a pack, but they're for 3 months plus I think, not newborn. So rather pointless lol. I can see their benefits to some extent, but at the same time, I'd dread having to take them away!
Ive never bought one @ssumner I don't see much point, but if it works for you hey ho give it a go, he chews on teathers every now and then but doesn't really like much in his mouth, doesn't like bottles or cups or anything other than a boob @abiruth xxx
My daughter had one for the first 9 weeks at night but doesn't have it anyone she spits it out if we try giving it to her. She would rather suck on her hand and wrist x
Vin sometimes sucks his hands @emmaclark, and ive never bought one @kim.m, he likes shouting and babbling too much to have anything in his mouth, he's a proper chatterbox xxx
I didn't want to give my boy one but he was constantly looking for something to suck on even like an hour after feeds, and to begin with I was just feeding him but he would bring it all back up😩 it soothes him! but now that he's found his hands he doesn't really take it anymore which is good, he only likes it when he's over tired and needs comfort as it sends him to sleep😊 I plan to have it gone in a few months... hopefully lol xxx
My babies have had dummies and its been the worst mistake of my life. Trying to wean them off it now that there toddlers is a nightmare. Xxx
Awww, for some babies is the norm not to have one so don't worry if he doesn't xxx @darciepenny
I think I had one @courtniegeexo I think im vins soother😂 I just never really knew what they did @lauren16 xxx
They can help soothe babies :) i would never take one and neither would my brother xxx @darciepenny
I just saw the pic of dummy's and everyone always says to me like oh god how does he not have one, but ive never known why babies have them? I don't know what they're supposed to do @courtniegeexo xxx
My little man had one from 3 months till 6 months then took it away! He's now 2 in July @darciepenny xxx
