I would just like to add that labour isn't supposed to be painless. we're supposed to feel the pain. It let's you know that everything is as it should be or if something isn't right. worrying about the pain will spoil your pregnancy. your body is designed to give birth. There will be the opportunity for you to go to classes etc to learn how to naturally manage pain until you can have pain relief. There's no way that you can plan it. so I wouldn't even worry yourself trying

O God lots to think about thanks to most of you for all the comments, I will have to wait nearer the time who knows what I may have to have, but have plenty of time to think it through watched one lady have a c section and was over in 10 mins that's all and looked so easy and painless she was smiling the whole way through lol, not that i would be smiling I would be shitting myself either way xxxx

@babycakes88, you should do what you feel is best for you, c section wasn't my first choice I cried when they told me I needed an emergency one and I cried the whole way through mine. But don't feel bullied (not saying anyone is bullying btw lol) into not asking your midwife. It's by far not the easiest thing to cope with during or after and I'd encourage you to do so so so much research into it. Not trying to scare you, but I almost lost bub during and the OH almost lost me during the stitch up procedure as my body went into complete shock meltdown. Even 4 months on it still gives me gip, just last night the scar had cracked and was oozing puss and yuck 😷 but like I said so what you want to do its your body and baby at the end of the day! 😊 xx

I'm the complete opposite lol, want to do everything I can to avoid a c-section. So much puts me off them; it is after all, major surgery. Of course if there's complications/emergency/medical need, then I'll do what it takes to get my baby out safely. But as much as I'm absolutely terrified of giving birth (I suffer from extreme anxiety), I'd much rather do it that way than be cut wide open lol. This is my first baby, and trust me, I've heard a lot of horror stories about labour and delivery, but every one is different. I just go by the thought that we were made to do this, our bodies are designed to do it (obviously there are some exceptions!), but 9 out of 10 women can deliver naturally, successfully and be fine :) Talk to your midwife about it, but I don't think you can just choose to have a section unless there's medical need for it x

@babycakes88 I found the spinal so odd! Didn't like the experience that much...but had no choice :) It was awkward pushing when I couldn't actually feel myself pushing :) Oh and with any epidural/spinal...you need to have a catheter! As you can't get up and walk for 12+ hours! Once I gained the feeling all back...feeling the catheter stuck down there in my urethra....plus the vaginal blocks( bandages) stuck in my vagina was annoying! x

I had an emergency section with my daughter @babycakes88 and I'm only havin natural birth this time so I can experience it and so i havent got 2 stay in hospital for 2 days after if I go over to 41 weeks I get the option to have another agen section agen if I want 2 n if I do get to 41 weeks I will definitely be havin another 1 I don't think sections are as bad as people make out, wen I was in hospital after my daughter I got told to ring the buzzer wenever I wanted them to cum and pass me my daughter out of the crib but I did it all myself yes it aches etc after but it's not the worst thing ever and you can do anythin if you put your mind to it I did it myself so if you are worried etc just ask your midwife and see wha your options are :) xx

My sisters was 8lbs and 14oz's she had an epidural in the end and was taken out by forceps in the end as she could not push no more lol, I'm not too worried atm lol, you must be brave @wonterbaby95 lol no pain relief, I am also very skinny and weigh under 8 stone so didn't know if this made a difference X

Hey hun :) Don't be put off by other peoples experiences :) Labour wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be...not that I really thought about it. But in one born every minute..the girls were screaming etc..I did wonder of that'll be me. But no...I was quiet..my midwives had to double check I was in labour lol! Didn't even make a sound pushing( I was pushing on no pain relief) I went 24+ hours without pain relief...I had gas and air from 8cms. Due to complications my doctor said I needed a forcep delivery and spinal block...the spinal block made me completely numb..I couldn't feel anything. Didn't feel my contractions..didn't feel my daughter coming out...I was actually upset that I didn't get to experience the whole feeling of pushing her out :) But the most important thing is that she was delivered safely :) Next time I hope there aren't any complications...I will go on gas and air or nothing..just like I planned with my daughter :) If you are worried about the pain..then you can have all the pain relief you want :) If you are worried about your vagina being stretched lol...I'm telling you...it goes back to normal :) TMI...but my boyfriend says it feels exactly the same..like I haven't had a baby at all :) My daughter was 8lbs 4oz's X

My Aunty had a c section due to her feeling that anxious and scared, they didn't want her to put any stress on baby so chose to go through with a c section because of the state she got herself in, so it can also depend on your mental health as well as psychical, watch lots of one born! Haha there's some natural deliveries on there that just amaze you! X

I had the option of c section but was told you have to go through numerous appointments to talk it through (even counselling) and would be based on your anxieties of giving birth. Maybe you should ask your midwife and they might offer you the counselling to at least help you with your fears of giving birth naturally xx

also, just want to say; she was only asking a question... i think her reasoning is extremely acceptable! if someone close to you has a horrible birth, it's completely normal to be somewhat affected by it!

i might be having an arranged c section but thats only because im very small and was severely underweight at the start of my pregnancy. i've improved a lot but im being monitored by the midwife and consultants. at first i thought i wanted a c-sec but now i've been carrying this baby for 17 weeks, im starting to reconsider and would love to give birth naturally unless obviously its not possible!

@babycakes88, I think you should take it on board.... It's not the easy way out having a c section just because your scared!! Yes your fanny goes to the size of a watermelon it has to squeeze a head out, yes you may tear, yes you may need stitches, yes there will be blood........

C section recovery is awful compared to natural labour, I had a three hour natural water birth, loved it! Worth it for the beautiful baby at the end and I felt amazing as soon as he was out x

it's more than a thousand and I doubt they will just give you one because you "want one" Iv had three my first was breach my second was an emergency and my third was early and had to have one.. the pain afterwards is so much worse than normal I'd think long and hard on this one hun x

Ответить

The pain of actually giving birth might be worse in a natural labour but it stops immediately once your baby is here. even then you can have an epidural and chose to feel nothing. but a c section takes weeks and weeks of painful recovery in which your unable to even lift your baby by yourself. having to take strong pain relief every day for weeks etc....its really not worth it. Your body is designed to give birth and if it couldn't do it then it wouldn't have got pregnant. You're already pregnant so unless you go private and pay thousands of pounds for something that's probably more painful in the long run. .then you've got to give birth lol
