I want both my kids to have the same last name but I can't change my daughters because her dad is on BC so I guess I'll have to give the baby my daughters dads last name @hermommy

@jesterr you could go through the courts to get it changed but that's probably the easiest way to go about it is the way you said

I would not give a baby a name from a different father they have no blood connection to. give the baby your last name

not to sound rude, but why would you give your child another mans last name especially if you arent with him just because you want your kids to have the same last name? Also, your daughters father can have that changed if the kid isn't his so its really a waste of time. I would be pissed if my mom gave me another mans last name just because of your reasoning. maybe that's just me though.

The father of the baby could also have it changed if he wanted to. I know if I was a guy I wouldn't want my child to have another mans last name.

my twin was engaged when she got pregnant and he called it off, but they didn't split. when she had her baby he told her if she didn't give her son his last name he wouldn't put his name on the birth certificate. well it ended up she didn't and he was never seen again. He was petty, cause it cost like $26 to change last name when they did get married, but he didn't want to do that.

@ashleymonae, well that's your mom and childs real grandma, she's talking about putting another mans last name as her new childs just because she wants her kids to have the same last name. Either way both guys can dispute it so its really pointless to do so.

Yeah I would say it's certainly wierd to give your child a name of a man that has no connection to her just because. I didn't know you could just pick a last name for a baby because you wanted to and that was ok. Might want to check into how legal that is. If it's legal then to each his own. I would definitely look at my mom like she lost her mind if she said your last name is Jones because that's your sisters. You have your sisters daddies last name even though y'all aren't related. I get why you want to do it though.
