I haven't been on here in forever but I could honestly use some support. My ex seems to think that he's going to get split custody. He lives alone in an apartment we shared, he smokes weed and gets drunk every weekend, buys alcohol for minors, doesn't clean(I always did it) he doesn't care about me or ask me how I'm doing.. At first we won't have court involved right away so im thinking I'll be with him when he's with her supervising because I've been told that he can take her and not give her back because we have equal rights. I'm going to be breastfeeding so I know she can't spend the night alone with him but I wouldn't want her to anyway. I want him to see her all the time but I feel like it's only okay if I supervise.

I would definitely supervise for now and use breastfeeding as an excuse and if he starts to get difficult about it, that's when I would involve the court. I know you're probably wanting to keep things as peaceful as possible but I wouldn't want my child in that environment either.

yeah, if you feel at all uncomfortable you should definitely supervise. at least until you can see how he is with her. you're the one who's carried her inside you and have already fallen in love. It takes men a while longer sometimes and you shouldn't feel guilty for having those feelings and concerns. and like @jleightutt said, you can use breastfeeding as an excuse. it's a good reason not to want to risk her being away from you too long!
