Trying to breast feed this baby is so stressful.. She refuses to latch on... And she cries bc she can't get anything out :/ I don't want her to go hungry.. Might just stop all together and go to formula since I'm going on it at 6 months anyways idk I just don't feel like it's for me 😔 any suggestions..?

try using a nipple shield works great my son was as a call a lazy nurser refused to open his mouth to latch on but with the shield he latched on and chowed down also maybe try hand expressing a little at first to get you milk flowing and rub it on her lips to get her attention on it

@atlas, I think the nipple Shield may be too big but she latches on to it but I never see/ feel milk come out so I squeeze as she sucks. I'm gonna try again after skin to skin. It's just frustrating kinda :/

Dont give up! Talk to a lactation consultant.

i believe there might be different size shields but im not 100% sure and I honestly rarely feel milk come out and my son is 5 months old

and it would be colostrum at this time for you may just be milk hasnt come in yet some take longer than others

@arivera64, she's latching better but now she's crying and ready to eat but as soon as I try to feed her she passes out and won't latch on or even open her mouth lol

awww lol
trust me it gets easier with time. Sometimes babies are just tired after being born. Being born is hard work lol. Especially if you've had an epidural baby will be drowsy for a while. Keep trying. Ruin your nipple across her lips and cheek until she opens really wide. Bring her to the breast, don't lean over her and try to put the breast in her mouth.

@arivera64, that's what the lactation consultant said and she said to do skin to skin before feeding and that'll help and now she's sucking 2-3x and letting go so maybe skin to skin will help
