Question can you get maternity leave if not working? I got laid off in October

Yeah I didn't want to either but it's extra money we'll have and the good thing is that it's not all day 😁 and disability checks won't last long I think the most they'll give you is up to 6 weeks that's what I read on there website
Yeah i would to I'm trying not to go back to work so soon @vaneessaxx but I need money for gas and groceries so I hope I can get disability
Yeah late August 😩 but I'll only be working about 4 hours a day Monday-Friday so it's not too bad but still Imma be really sad leaving her at first 😓

I don't see why you wouldn't be able too since I'm gonna be able to get it and I quit my main job 😁 but I'll be going back to my subbing job when the kids return from summer break so I'll just stop getting it 🙁
yea I did too but I got laid off back in Oct so I received my last payment last week from unemployment, I've been on it for 6 months and they said that's the most they pay 26 consecutive weeks , so hopefully I get approved for disability because I'm not going to be able to work anytime soon. @alyssamarie315
Omg! California is weird about there laws. Yeah I kept writing on my forms that I'm looking for work. Did you get laid off? @stephl91
because they said California is not giving extensions at the moment and she said since I'm pregnant I can't even be on unemployment because in order to be on unemployment I'm suppose to be actively looking for work and ready to work @alyssamarie315

I know right I was like whaaaat 😑 I mean it's not a lot but still they're just sending my information to the office 🙄
my unemployment just ended and I called to see if I can get an extension and they said no but that I can apply for disability so I will be doing that sometime this week

Yes you can I applied for disability through my doctor I stopped working at 30 weeks by choice, not sure if it's different at your doctors office but I had to pay $15 for them to process it
Yeah I'm receiving it right now as well I have two more checks left. A family friend told me I can so I'm going to go to Kaiser tomorrow and see @daylenerebecca

No only unemployment if you applied but that is only for 6 months after you were laid off
Why do u need maternity leave if not working its so you're off from work and are protected do u mean disability?
