so my mother keeps insisting my baby have my familys last name Engleton but my brother keeps telling me that's stupid and it should be my boyfriends last name Ramirez. so I just told my mom no thats dumb cuz what if me and my bf decide to get married and i change my last name to ramirez than the babys name is going to be different so now shes telling me to at least put the middle name engleton. ha well my sister has her son brandon corona engleton and not Brandon Corona cuz my mom told her Nd I honestly think it's stupid. my moms a really dominate infuritating women so i get it we arent married but is there a right way and wrong? or is it all just what works for youself?

My name is Sarai Sanchez Navarro my mom put my dads last name first than hers . I'm doing the same with my daughter
it's up to you but my son has my last name. I have since married another man and will not be changing my name. We are expecting another baby and he also will not have just my husband's name. We will hyphenate it at most. My husband is bummed about it but my sons will have the same last name.
When my daughter was born my husband and I(before we got married) weren't even together let alone in the same state and I kept her last name as mine. Three years later we are married and she still has my maiden name and not her father's... I do wish sometimes that I had just put his last name only because now that I am having my son she will be the only Luna instead of Warn. But it is also your choice and it's not super hard to change it later on just a hassle.
If he's there for you and baby definitely give your baby his last name! AND it's no ones decision but yours!
it's your baby. you choose the name you feel is best. your mom can say all she wants, but you will the one filling out the birth certificate.
