anyone plan on raising their little the old fashion way and NOT handing them electronics. I remember staying outside from 8-7 every day and only going home for lunch if I didn't forget😂 my child will not be allowed to have a tablet or anything like that until the age of 9/10
@breloya yes girl, there are days I would love to go outside and act like a child again but that would be so creepy😂
Same here. We use to have foot races, ride 4 wheelers, and just have fun outside. We use to jump in puddles, run through mud. We use to chase my pawpaws chickens lol. I miss being a kid sometimes, but then remember that I can just give my daughter that kind of childhood. I do the laugh or clap for Payton now. If you panic when she falls, she thinks it means she got hurt and will cry. If not, she just smiles and stands right back up.
@theinkedmommy yesssss girl same, I remember my mom telling me she was taking me to the doctor and if they told her I had strep I wasn't allowed to go anywhere or outside, yeah that didn't work they said it was strep and I pitched a big ass fit 😂 I was out side when we got home that day, granted she stayed with me but i was outside. I know many kids that are dependent on electronics and its so sad:(
@mommybug yes most definitely i mean she has to know how to use it, my junior year things started switching to strictly technology we all has ipads I can only imagine in 5/6 years what it will be.
yeah i know exactly what you mean.. I was terrified for her getting a hold of any electronic device.. but i showed her ABCmouse on the laptop at 2yrs and it was hard for her to use it.. when i found out about the app for ipod I gave it to her and was afraid she'd be glued to it.. but thats not the case.. shes over here checking the window every 5 mins looking for rain bc she wants to walk in the rain.. when it was snowing we were out there freezing our asses off having snow ball fights and she loved that stuff.. cried when we had to come inside.. basically.. I think some time with technology isn't so bad for your child.. in my personal opinion
@theinkedmommy girl yes! same here Brinley won't get my phone, it's mine I'm grown she's a child, when I see she wants my phone just like you I'll break it or redirect her and take her out side if we aren't already lol
@mommybug see girl but thats different your daughter would rather be outside, I know from my first pregnancy I can't imagine chasing after a 3 year old outside😩 bed time is different I'm really referring to those that like literally pacify or use electronics so they don't have to deal with them. I've just seen the way kids I know have turned out
my 3yr old would much rather be outside walking or at the park .. picking flowers and attempting to play catch(we're working on it) she did however.. hijack my ipod.. she only uses it for ABCmouse b4 bed or when she goes potty(she has seen us take our phones to the bathroom and now does the same) i don't see a problem with her using it .. and being that I'm 36wks pregnant I can't really run around with her outside anymore and I'm more tired these days.. so on days I can't get myself up and out I do let her use it.. but she mostly wants me to take her out 😩😩...
but I'm hoping once baby is here and a few months old I can go back to enjoying the outdoors with her..
@breloya omg right!? Christmas morning my 4th grade year my granny got me a go cart😂😂😂 Christmas morning I wrecked that thing into my Aunt and uncles cars💀 next year got a dirt bike and my pawpaw broke it😂 kids now days don't understand what fun is between electronics and parents wanting to keep them in a bubble it sucks:( my mom used to laugh and clap when I'd fall so I would get up and do the same. I miss those days times are changing too auickly
' That's Because She Got A Chance Too Experience Life Without Electronics Shoved In Her Face Too Keep Her Busy 24/7
I'm seeing it far too often with the kids never coming outdoors. We were fearless as kids lol. Probably did a couple of things that could've gotten us killed or seriously injured, but it was just a part of growing up. The kids now are too sheltered by helicopter parents or lazy parents. Kids need to run around. They need to fall and get scraped knees. The entire vibe is different now. For example, when I was growing up, Christmas morning, all the kids would be out riding their new bikes, scooters, skateboards or playing with their new toys. Now, Christmas mornings are silent because all those kids got were new Xbox/PS games or a tablet. I'm all down with getting pay these things when she's older. But in my eyes, a 2 year old doesn't need their own iPad, phone, or game system.
@zarimom1 my niece is 3 and can work a cell phone as good if not better than I can😐 my sister pacifies her with tablets, tvs, and phones barely take her outside. So of course when I had her for weeks on end I'd keep myah up and out all day and by 10 she was exhausted and slept until 9-10 and we went again😂 swimming, the park, chuckycheese girl all of that. Myah didn't ask for a phone once when she was with me
@34466 see I agree with you 100% when mine are older of course they'll have it but limited like you said kids can get into things. My little cousin is 10 and has seen a strip club bc of GTA5😐
' Exactly Lol, That's Why These Kids Are Getting Messed Up Into Electronics
@cubanese right?:( its very sad lol i cant wait to be able to just chill outside again with Brinley
@hamman13 agreed👏👏 I had one at 8 because I was involved and my mom needed to know when to come get me because so in after my pawpaw also get cancer, all the school busses were also over turning at the time but girk I didn't care for that thing what so ever until about 12/14 when all my little friends started getting one and I had a boy friend even then I dropped the damn thing in the toilet not paying attention😂😩 I would say 16-18th is when it really had me locked in lol that damn iPhone was my baby
@zarimom1 lol that's what Joe said girl, he had the prepaid. My first phone was a green chocolate from Verizon, I can't tell you how many times that poor phonebe got lost or took a swim in a ditch or toilet😂😂😂😂 my mom probably could I just didn't care for it until I had a little boy friend and my friends all got phones which wasn't until like 12/14<- boyfriend lol
I didn't have a cell phone until I was 16. And I plan on letting him have electronics but with restrictions. Like he can play with after a certain but play outside all day. Especially that young why do you need to be on electronics like that..
@breloya girl yes! I love my little cousins TO DEATH but they are growing up in the era of electronics, they dont know what outside is.. when I was 15/16/17 and not really into just playing outside I would go play basketball, draw with chalk, swim, jump on the tramp, and ride their bikes just to get them out. My youngest one would stay out if he could it's the oldest that sits in front oif the tv
Oh ya my twins won't have any of it until they are older. Mine just started getting those types of things in the last year. My oldest is my bonus son and he had a phone at like 9-10 so my now 10 year old has tried to ask for one. I laughed and said oh no my love when you get a job and can buy your own then you can have one. Or you will be given one when you go off with friends in a few years. I have seen it from my own kids by choosing to keep them away from all of it until and older age. And my niece's who think technology is the only way of life my youngest niece got a tablet at the age of 1- 1 1/2. She will be 4 in October and it's hard to get her to function outside of tablets etc. We have custody of her two year old brother and he is not allowed to do any of those things. My life as a kid was spent outside and love that my babies are taking after me and doing the same.
@jacesterlingsmommy preach girl, I think Joe and i need to do the sane which means that damn Xbox he has needs to go lol
@cubanese Yeah see until I could go out by myself my mom granny and pawpaw always had me out side and playing. But I also Had tons of little friends in my neighborhood as I got older there was a pack of 9/10 kids that just roamed the neighborhood we all grew up together. I just would rather not allow it at all and show her how it should be
@34466 girl yours are older I'm talking about little little kids, but yes see you totally get it. I'm sure my daughter will have it all but like you said very rarely will she be on it. I grew up when it came out as I got older around 8 so for those first year it was just sticks and bugs😂 I actually lost or dropped the phone in the took let multiple times playing around and forgetting about it
' My Daughter Going Through The Struggle Lol...She Not Gone Noo The Definition Of Electronic Lol &&' Her 1st Phone Gonna Be A Minute Phone Like We Had Growing Up Lol
I made this same post a while back! I hate seeing kids constantly on iPads and stuff. I want my daughter to run around the woods like I did, go swimming in the creek like I did, go fishing, camping, etc. So many children nowadays just sit around on their butts with their faces planted into electronic devices.
I also have passwords on all of their stuff so they must ask first. And that happened because my niece's are allowed to live in their tablets so my kids thought that was the life and they would try to do the same when they came home from their Nana's nope!! I think everything in moderation is fine and there can actually be alot of good with technology there are many learning games and some kids really do thrive better through that type of learning but it should always be limited and monitored. Kids can easily get into stuff they should not.
@jacesterlingsmommy yes girl same👏👏 night time is okay swith me also but like you said for a certain time if we teach them right when they're little at 5th grade 6th grade when they're involved we can give them a phone and it won't phase them one bit
All three of mine have tablets, DS's, and TV plus video consoles in their room. Now with all that being said they would rather be outside and it is so rare they are allowed on their electronics they really don't even ask anymore. They would rather go outside or bust out a board game. It's nice to have the stuff but I'm raising the same way I was raised electronics are a luxury not necessity. They need to enjoy the life around than more than being sucked into mindless video games etc.
@sarahdrew yesss girl that's around when I got mine and could actually have it but I was involved in cheer and softball and also in athletics so my mom had to come get me lol i wasn't real interested in it until about 7/8 grade when "hanging out side wasn't cool😂😂" but even then I never stayed home with my face glued to the tv or phone I was going to football games, cheer comps, softball tournaments, the mall lol my little bfs house. like i was very rarely home😂
@ginnalynn right? I remember playing in ditches catching turtles, building ramps😂😂 driving my go cart in the middle of the road and our neighbor cop Jesse pulling me over telling me my momma said get my tushy home lol. I hate seeing children passified with electronics
Girl I was gone until the street lights came on. I hope my kid is the same way. I have no problem giving them electronics when it's rainy or at night but limited time only and not everyday. My SO has already said he and I are to start first by not being on our phones and teaching him about family time. It's beyond annoying when people let electronics babysit their kids. I have cousins who never come down from their room or see the light of day because they're on xbox 24/7.
exactly... my son won't have any type of phone until Jr high when he is in sports n such and then he will only have it on game days so he can call when he's almost back... same for my daughter, of course at 6 months she doesn't do much except roll over lol
@cubanese I'm just going off of what I see and the way most turn out, I'm planning on doing things the way I was raised.
@sarahdrew yes, like I had toys out the wazoo, trampoline all that but never any tablet. I had a phone in 3rd grade only for field trips bc that's when school buses were over turning alot but I wasn't real interested in it really until 7-8th grade lol
we built a sandbox for our 2 year old.... he has toys but no tablet or anything like that
I agree. My baby won't even have a tv in her room ever.
