when are you supposed to start losing your mucous plug? can you start losing little bits of it early?

I lost my plug only with two of my kids and each time its was snotty with blood and I was admitted @jderr220

When does the doctor normally start checking you to see if you have started dilating?
So I keep feeling these lil sharp pains on my right side. You do get pains like that before you start your period right.? Remember I had that dark brown spotting for a few hours last month on the 22. My period suppose to start today.
