Breast feeding didn't work because my son had issues with latching. Now I am trying exclusive pumping but I can't keep up with my son's feedings. I always start out with enough to feed him throughout the day and then at night I start to run out and don't end up pumping enough to keep up with what he's eating. Its getting so frustrating. I was so dedicated to breast feeding this time. I seriously want to cry. 😢
@naomilynn21, PUMP AT NIGHT. Put baby to bed and pump at 3am or so whether they get up or not! Drink AT LEAST a gallon. I am making enough to keep up with my sons needs but not an oversupply yet for back to work. But I also take fenugreek and breeds yeast. Also just got some tea that I am hoping sets it over the edge and does what I need!! But those wee hours of the morning are the best times its when prolactin is highest and you make the most milk!
I've been trying to pump every two hours but it's hard to stay on schedule with that. I'm sure I cant keep my supply up because I'm not pumping enough. I also haven't been pumping at night.
Honestly if you're wanting to be committed and you really want to breast feed id go back. Some hospitals also have breastfeeding groups/ classes led by LC's and they're weekly. And I've never used one but I heard nursing shields help with latching.
how often do you pump. I was feeding my child the same way but I couldn't get her to latch on right so I just pump. I pump every three hours or just when my boobs feel full.
@carterclaytonb I saw one in the hospital and she gave me some great help but he won't even latch on at all lately.
Brewers*** they're both like 5 bucks at Walmart. And that's a gallon of water lol
