Everything's fine! I finally worked up the courage to look at my stitches today (I got a third degree tear) and it looked to me like it was coming open and was oozing yellow stuff so I mentioned it to the nurses at l&d while they were helping me with nursing and they said to go down and get it checked out. The doctor said everything looks good though!
I had a similar problem and my doctor told me to wash it with Dial soap and that really helped. Also I use a hair dryer to dry it after every shower or bath.
