Am I being too over protective with my baby girl for making changes with my Belgian Malinois dog? He has been our baby for 4 years. He loves kids. He just went from sleeping in our bed for 4 years to sleeping in his own crate. He will not come on my bed any longer. I know he feels I am different with him. I still love him and cuddle with him in the living room. He feels I don't like him any more.

My personal opinion, I think we should have created boundaries from the beginning, but we didn't. An I feel I need to make a few changes way before the baby comes for the best Interest of the baby and the dog. My fear is that my dog being so spoiled will hurt my baby when he sees she is taking over all of his favorite spots and our time. I want to train my dog to completely sleep in his bed as he is doing now, but out of our bedroom. Am I being too extreme? I do not want to be unfair to my lovely puppy who I love so much, but I certainly do not want to put my precious girl in a harmful situation.

I totally get how you are feeling both my babies would sleep on my bed with me.. they love to cuddle but now I stopped letting them on the bed.. I do lay a blanket and pillows down for them and they love it.. they cuddle with me on the couch and they seem to be getting use to it now :)
