So any of you lovely ladies used paraguard or mirena birth controls? I am definitely looking into it…

I loved my Mirena!

I had paraguard. It was good but did make my periods heavier and alil longer

I used paraguard no hormones and it is good for 10 years. I had it in for six years and I was pregnant and month after.

@surprise4, Did it mess with your cycles any? @celenarenee I worry about that because that is originally why I started birth control in the first place. I bled like crazy and for 2 weeks at a time most times. @j.echo did you have any negative side effects at all?

@irishtwinmom13 it wasn't that long but it does work for a long time. I have mines in for 5 years and took it out and got pregnant a couple of months after it was out.

My cycles stayed the same only lasting 3-4 days with the same flow.

I didn't have negative effects. I didn't get a period either.

@celenarenee, @surprise4 sounds like I'll be talking to my doctor about it. did you have any weight gain? I have a pseudo tumor and its affected by my weight so after I have the baby I have to lose 100+ lbs.

@irishtwinmom13, no weight gain the main reason I chose paraguard is because it's non-hormonal so it doesn't cause any of the issue that other birth control causes.
