So my daughters daycare mentioned something and I guess I don't know how to properly address/fix the "problem." If you try to get my daughter (14 months) to do something she will just stand there and put her arms up until you help her. They want to teach her to be more independent and I guess I didn't think of it as being an issue. Any advice? I do notice she will do it at home as well, when we make her dinner and ask if she's ready she gets excited but won't move, she will sit down and put her arms up until we pick her up and put her in her chair. TIA!

No problem! You'll find when the baby gets here she might get jealous as well. One of my toddlers wouldn't even talk to his mom for like 2 months after the baby was born! And another that would hate to talk about her new brother. Some though love it and want to be helpful!

She's very independent and keeps to herself lol she use to be all about daddy and since I've been pregnant it's been all about me. I think babies are smarter then people make them out to be! I'll try that though, I didn't realize until today that we just grab her when she does it. Thank you for the advice @whitney (:

All children are different. Some just want more attention and affection. I would just ask her to do it until she figures it out and then when she does do it I would hug or hold for a sec rewarding her. Redirecting children is key too. Tell her to do it like come here and then we can do this! Getting her excited for the next thing.

They make them get their own food, they eat by themselves and she drinks out of a cup now! After they're done they'll dump their own plates and wash their own hands etc. so I don't get why sometimes she will and sometimes she won't!

She was doing really well, they try getting her to do things by herself and she'll do really good and then I feel like someone gives in and helps her and it starts all over. When I'd get there she'd cry cause she was happy I was there, but would stand there until someone picked her up, but the last couple weeks she'd walk to me on her own. They asked what we do to fix it and I've never thought of it lol we usually just stand there until she figures it out lol idk/: @whitney I also feel like the further along I get the more clingy she gets so maybe that's it.

I used to teach toddlers and to get them to be more independent we would let them do things on their own. Like feed themselves, sit in their own chair, tell them to ask for more via sign language or by saying more. Free play is also a huge way for children to learn, especially learning from the older children. When they want us to pick them up to so something we would ask them to walk over. I takes a little time to get it down but it's incredible what they can learn to do in time.

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

Baby won't bear weight on leg

Baby won't bear weight on leg I have a walking 10 month old and she has been extra fussy yesterday and today. Today I noticed she didn't really want to crawl, she would just cry until I came and picked her up. After I fed her, I tried setting her down to play with her big sister and she just started crying and wouldn't put any weight on her left leg. She will put weight down on her right leg but then just cries until you pick her back up. I thought maybe she just didn't want to be put down (as baby's often do). I tried a few more times over the next 30 minutes and she still won't put any weight on it. I had a meeting (I work from home), so I took her upstairs to my husband. She is now playing with her siblings and happy, but he text me (from upstairs) and says she still won't put weight on it. She is just sitting there playing.

Dad's FB Video!! Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!
