Is sandwich meat really bad to eat when pregnant? What sandwich meat is the healthiest to eat? I really want a sandwich but don't want to call my midwife for this kind of question.

the thing with lunch meats is that a bacteria called listeria grows on it over time (I'm a lab tech and have worked with this bacteria multiple times). the doctors suggest you heat up your meat, but as long as it's fresh it should be fine cold too. just don't let it sit in your fridge for a long time and then eat it, fresh is best
my dr told me you can have meat that is carved (ie jersey mikes, publix, etc) but not the prepackaged meat at the grocery store. I don't eat hot meat either.
I can't either unless it's a hot ham and cheese sandwich

You can eat any of it they just want you to warm it up until it's steaming
I eat it on occasion. Not every day every week but when I crave it I cave and have a sandwich.
