who's deciding to use a pacifier versus not using one
I don't use them. All 5 of my kids never used one. It's just one more thing I gotta keep track of. They learn to self sooth without them.
pacifiers are ok to use. there will be a point where they don't want it anymore so if you don't push giving them one they won't take it anymore. my son hasn't taken one in 2 months and he's 4 months old

I see nothing with them, they're a source of comfort. formula fed babiss usually take them better than breastfed babies and I think it's the nipple thing. If you were to take it away, it's best to do so slowly.
Most babies grow out of them on their own, but others need weaning. My girls were premature so the nurses gave it to them for soothing and comfort. Around 5 months both weaned themselves off of it and now only take it to play with or if they get into something and see it
My daughter is 6 almost 7 months old and loves her pacifier. They are definitely a life saver! Pacifiers are so much better than the thumb! The thumb can cause all kinds of damage with teeth the pacifiers are orthodontic safe. I'm a dental assistant and have seen crooked teeth from thumb and never anything from the pacifier.:)
I was going to take my daughter's away but her pediatrician said not to. She said it was like if a little kid had a favorite stuffed animal or a security blanket. She said my daughter would throw it away when she was ready. When she was 3 she started school and knew she couldn't take it with her but would get it back after school. After about 2 weeks of school she no longer wanted it anymore. My daughter is 10 years old now and we have used it as a Christmas tree ornament since lol she loves it. Also a passy never caused her to have cavities or messed up teeth. Her teeth are perfect.
yeah my god daughter was on hers till she was like 4😒 but I don't see a problem with it I don't like my kids to cry and ya can't feed em all day so if they suck on that for a min why not but my kids literally once they could take it out would throw them clear across the room I'm like seriously lol
I don't see a problem with is I would just break the habit at about 1-1.5 years other wise theyight not get rid of it
my daughter is so crazy for one it hurts my heart @h_mother0322 @countrymama2015 @supermommy31082 ... but so many moms dont recommend it
I'm going to try but my kids never really take them long so I'll try with this new baby and see if he does like his sister and brother and just play with it lol
When he don't want it
