Hey mommas I have a question
My boyfriends niece is 3 yrs old and used to only one bottle to drink milk (don't ask me why she still on a bottle at 3) she refuses to drink milk from any bottle that's not hers. But it was disgusting so we tossed it.. She asks for it when she sleeps.. So what can I do if she won't drink milk from any where else literally cries herself to sleep the past 2 nights
Also she has a fever and a cold.. She just came from DR so the change of climate is affecting her.. We tried giving her medicine and she just spits it out or goes bananas and I'm trying to reduce her crying since she coughs uncontrollably when she cries and her fever comes right back... Any suggestions
Let's just say her mom isn't doing a good job at all so I'm stuck watching the little girl because I'm scared she might hurt her unintentionally because she has no patience and doesn't understand that kids just want to be held when sick.
Help! I'm sleepy and she is winning because she wants milk. But coughing at the same time..
try a normal cup tell her the bottle is gone she has to be a big girl now
@mommybug, we found one similar and figured yes it would work. It started to work and then she looked at it and was like no this not my bottle lol. Her face was priceless. @mw1620 I've tried that she has 3 different ones that she picked out but she refuses them once we get home.
try a sippy cup take her
with u to get one let her pick it out and tell her that it's her big girl cup
maybe a bottle similar to the one she had?
@ms.jones, that's exactly what I'm thinking I figured if she really wants it she will take anything. But the bad part is her crying is bringing her fever back up.. And she refuses meds. So breaking it is hard.. I've tried baths with her to calm her down as well but that will only last but so long.. She is tired but is having a hard time falling asleep with out that bottle
@towens921, just to see if it works.. I feel so bad for her..but I'm not sure what to do at this point..and her mother is loosing her mind..
@towens921, I've been thinking of different ways to do it.. But she has refused all.. I even tried bribes lol. I'm at the point where tomorrow I buy a small syringe and squirt it in her mouth..
Damn ! I'm sorry that's crazy hard ! Sounds like you might just have to watch her go cold turkey and ween herself off that bottle
Hmm that's a hard one. Maybe meds can be snuck some way
@ms.jones, tried that.. She done picked out 3 different sippy cups lol but no longer wants it when we get home and asks for milk.. She actually starts covering her mouth when we don't listen to the "no"
@towens921, yeah I figured that and I normally would but when she cries her fever comes back and I'm trying hard for the hospital to be her last result.. But she is refusing meds. She literally just wants her bottle
@sharondeshonta, take her to the store with you and let her pick out a sippy cup with a spill proof lid . Maybe something with her favorite character or girly colors will help
I just put on Curios George. She seems to be a lot calmer to that, but she usually is calm for a little bit untill she starts falling out then asks for her bottle.
If not may need to let her cry it out this week. May be better once she gets use to not having it?
Nothing else at all calms her? TV show, a food, baby doll?
Ladies my daughters speech therapist wants me to stop giving my daughter her milk from the bottle. She only drinks from the bottle her milk before and after she wakes up she doesn’t ask bottle all day has no attachment. Its doctor brown bottle y cut wish those of u who arent familiar its just like sippy cup. I just like it because she can drink with no air we tried different ones and she just doesnt like them so any good bottle or any ideas of what can i use or should do?
Milk
Isabella just isn't interested really, she'll have a couple of ounces in the morning when she wakes up the a couple mid morning and a couple in the afternoon. She had dinner at 5 tonight and has just gone to bed cos she fell asleep, (normal time for her) and didn't drink any of her bedtime bottle. Gonna speak to HV Wednesday about it. But is anyone's else baby's like it? Xx

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
I know what I was meaning to ask y'all . Is it true that at the age of one your baby would have to switch to sippy cups because of their teeth rotting out?
The nurse told me I would have to stop Carmen from drinking out of bottles since she's has been switched to whole milk because it will start rotting out her teeth.🤔 Help me understand because either way wouldn't the whole milk still be in her mouth unless you brush her teeth ?
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
@mw1620, the normal cup works during the day but not when she wants to sleep which is when she normally asks for it.
